I already discussed the need of “DoFollow” Blogs on my other blog and Squidoo lenses, and to help further, I want to present to you 3 lists:
- DoFollow Directories
- DoFollow Forums
- Examples of DoFollow Blogs
For my new readers.
In a nut shell, if you have a blog created with WordPress, chances are your blog is set to “no follow” comment links, because this is the WordPress default.
DoFollow or NoFollow are HTML attributes which tells the search engines to follow the links or not to follow them, with other words, your links can count as single backlinks or not.
Bloggers want their links to count, and it is a new movement of turning blogs into “DoFollow”.
I am sure, you want people to comment on your blog posts you want to have an interactive community, and user created content.
Transform your blog from NoFollow blod in DoFollow blog, put a DoFollow notice on your blog, this is to let others know that they are welcome to leave relevant comments.
No doubt there will be some spammers who try to take advantage of your generosity. But, you can use a plug-in, AKISMET which does an outstanding job of filtering out spam comments. This plug-in is coming with WorldPress, all you have to do is to activate the plug-in.
Personally I have AKISMET activated, and I still monitor my comments, but it shouldn’t take more than a few minutes each day.
How do you set DoFollow attribute?
You just load a plug-in on your blog which will do just that, it will replace NoFollow attribute with DoFollow.
This is the plug-in, click on it, to download.
Read carefully the instructions to upload the unzip folder of the plug-in. If you do it once correctly you will learn to load any other plug-in as they have a similar technique.
I created 3 different pages for Dofollow Directories, Forums, and Examples of Blogs, click on the left menu under Pages or:
http://squidooeventlog.com/dofollow-directories/
http://squidooeventlog.com/dofollow-forums/
http://squidooeventlog.com/dofollow-blogs/
I hope it is helpfull. Any comments, questions, oppinions are welcome.
Until next time all the best
Michaela
